Namaste Please do not worry as this message is actually good news for you In the police online petition system the status Disposed Booked means your complaint has been accepted and converted into an FIR which means a criminal case has been registered at the police station Your petition is closed only as a petition because it is now a regular case If the status had said Disposed Not Booked it would have meant the police closed it without registering a case What you should do now First visit the concerned police station or check the state police website and collect the FIR number and a copy of the FIR Under Section 173 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 you are entitled to a free copy of the FIR Second read the FIR carefully and check that all your allegations dates and names of the accused are correctly recorded If anything important is missing give a further written statement to the Investigating Officer and keep the acknowledgement Third cooperate with the investigation and share your supporting documents and witness details with the Investigating Officer In matrimonial complaints the police may also call both parties for counselling before taking further steps Fourth if there is no progress in the investigation you can approach the Superintendent of Police or Commissioner of Police and later the Magistrate under Section 175 of the BNSS for directions To advise you more precisely please share the nature of your complaint along with the police station and state concerned and whether you have received the FIR copy
