Need Advise on Divorce and alimony from a Drunkard husband

Hi. my husband drinks a lot and does a lot of verbal abuse to me and my parents. He is employed, with DXC technologies, however, due to his drinking habits, he is irregular to work. he was almost unemployed for 3 yrs so I had to take loan to support the family. now i cannot sustain his behavior anymore. Please suggest how to proceed and get my loans cleared by him that I had take because of him.
As per your write-up, you can file a case under domestic violence act and claim for compensation and maintenance too.
Divorce can be filed on grounds of cruelty.
You could claim alimony too
But first it would be advisable for you to convince your husband for a mutual consent divorce as it would be settled amicably

If he is willing, you can file a case for Divorce by Mutual Consent i.e. joint Petition for divorce and ask him for alimony. If he is not willing, then you can file a Petition for divorce against him and demand the alimony for the payments made by you. However if you are employed, or are capable of being employed, then it is difficult to get the alimony. So please also collect the documents regarding loans that you have taken.
