you need not worry because the bank will speak for you if you calm down and technically look into it and get hold of all proofs not only action can be taken against your relative but also against police for harassing all of you and moreover it is not easy to arrest without proper adjudication

disclaimer: for free legal aid kindly contact the legal services authority. as far as the dispute between your wife and relative is concerned since the fixed deposit is in the name of your wife so the question of wrongly getting the fixed deposit in the name of your wife is upon your relative to prove and if there is any element of fraud involved the title of your wife over the fixed deposit can be challenged but the level of proof required of your relative is very high and if I may say it is almost impossible. this is not to discourage your relative but only to make you aware of the ground realities.
