My husband wants me to leave my job and career

i did love marriage hindu in 2018 . I started my study in 2019 and was staying with my husband. In 2020 husband left me at my parents home and said his mother doesnt like all this.he said stay at ur parents house and i will take you back when u finish ur studies. Now i have finished in 2023. Now i want to do job he is saying i will take u back but u wont do job for atleast 2 years as his mother is ill n wants me to take care of her i want to live with him but dont want to leave my career .

If the behaviour of your husband is intolerable towards you can anytime send a complaint regarding your grievances in writing to the police station according to your jurisdiction. And if you wish to go legal then you can also file a petition under section 12 DV or section 125 CrPC and claim maintenance for yourself. And if there's no scope of living together then rather stretching the relationship you should file for contested divorce under the ground of cruelty. I would suggest you to go with mutual divorce because it's cost effective and ends up in a maximum of six months.

You both the husband and wife, along with your in-laws, can stay together peacefully, and you can choose to work independently. As you mentioned about your husband that he wishes you to take care of his mother and drop the idea of the job. In that case, you both should sit together and discuss on this to have a way out.

Madam, you need to file a petition for domestic violence against your husband and mother in law seeking monthly maintenance, residence orders, protection orders and compensation along with monetary relief in order to teach them a lesson to let you pursue your career else it would be problematic for them. for assistance you may consult me.

This is social matter so it’s better you arrange a social meeting in this regard. Legally they can’t force u to stay at home in any circumstances! If they still torture u then u can move complying at CAW cell for Harrasment or file domestic violence case Plz n in touch
