Mother in laws not giving my jewellery

kept my jewellery in mother in law house and went to my parents for 10 days after i came back asked my jewellery. My Mother in law not giving me, my jewellery. Mother in law said, I will not give you anything do whatever you want.
Now what can I do? Can I file dowry case against her? My husband is supporting me. Please help me.
First try to sort out the issue with the help of family elders. It that does not work then you can file dowry harassment case and domestic violence case. But you need to think about the long term impact of such action.
