Mother-in-law threatening to throw out of house

29-Jul-2023 (In Family Law)
I had been working for 8 years and my husband wasn't. I was the one who was paying all the bills. Till my father-in-law was alive everything was ok but when he died in 2013 mother in law started threatening us to throw out of the house if we don't listen to her. She wants to give her all money to her daughter and denying anything to my husband as he drinks. Every now and then she threatens to leave this house as she owns(it was my father-in-law's name and now it has come to under her name) it. Kindly advice as I don't know what to do besides waiting to come over this bad time.

Dear Madam,

Gone through the incident narrated by you. You have right to file case against husband and the mother in law under domestic violence. To proceed under this requesting you to collect the evidences.

if you married and came to this house and have been maintaining her and her son since 2013, and you are also able to prove this then she cannot ask you to leave that house as it is also your matrimonial house. you will have to establish from documentary evidence that you have been taking care of all the financial needs of her in that house this way you will also be able to establish your rights in the house. if you have been providing any maintenance to her .. stop it for a while see what happens, under any circumstances do not leave the house.
