Mental abuse by husband and mother in law

I am an IT professional. I got married last year. My husband left his job within few months of marriage. He and his mother constantly use derogatory terms for my family and constant verbal abuse at home. They also demand that I should pay for house expenses. They do not approve of my further studies or change of city for job.

When the couples agree to a divorce, the courts will consider a divorce with mutual consent as per. Section 10A of Indian Divorce Act, 1869, requires the couple to be separated for at least two years, the couple only needs to provide that they have not been living as husband and wife during this period. but u can file divorce case

file a DV complaint as well as if any dowry demand you can also file 498A or 498 for cruelty. Generally, you don't need to leave your laws house. You can seek shelter or any other accommodation under dv act
