Maintenance charges for pregnant wife

Wife staying in parents house Chennai for delivery.Husband (Unemployed) living in west Bengal offers to maintain his wife on condition of her living with him, and the wife refuses to live with him.Can the wife ask her husband for monthly expenses till she is residing at her parents house?

legally yes, Supreme Court said even the begger is liable to maintain his wife, when he is able to arrange food and clothes for himself. But practically speaking how you get monthly maintanence from his when he is unemployed
