Maintenance and taking responsibility of parents at old age

13-Mar-2024 (In Family Law)
My father abandoned me and my brother when I was age of 6, my brother was 1 year old. Our mother and maternal grandparents raised us. My parents are not divorced yet. My father earns well now but if in future at old age he cannot support himself then will it be our legal responsibility to support him financially and take care of him even though he didn't support us financially from childhood ?? Also we are now adults and recently he gave me some money so can I get in trouble for that??

Yes. It's the responsibility of your father to take care of your mother and till you and your brother attain a majority age. Vice versa it's also your responsibility to take care of your parents and their well-being. For answering the last question, you have to be specific about the purpose for which the money was given to you. Regards.
