Legal Heir Certificate for Property

I am the only child of my muslim parents. We had been living in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu for for more than 25 years. My father passed away in 2018 in Pune where we had gone for his treatment. My mother has recently married again and now I feel the need to have a legal heir certificate. Can i apply for it now in Pune? What would be the process?

You may file application before the magistrate at Pune to obtain legal heir certificate under Bombay Regulations Act. You will have to attach relevant documents along with the application and file evidence followed by a newspaper notice
