I want to marry my first cousin once removed, who is my mother's first cousin, my maternal great grandmother and his maternal grandmother were same and my maternal grandmother and his mother were sisters. So can i marry him under hindu marriage act. If not, under which act can we marry?

Dear ma'am The marriage between you two will be a void marriage and can't take place as you two are sapindas of each other. The sapinda relationship extends to a person as far as the third generation (inclusive) in the line of ascent through the mother. Good bless you!

Under Hindu Marriage Act you will be coming under the prohibited degree and that's why you both are not eligible for marriage. But you can do the same under the provisions of the Special Marriage Act. In that you need 3 witnesses along with Aadhar Card & PAN Card. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

You can marry any person if he/she comes under prohibited degree until the customs allow so …! There is no provision apart from that …! U must check whether the person falls under that category or not and for the same u need up hire expert advocate ! B in touch

Marriage within the 3 generations of mother and 4 generations of father is impermissible in Hindu law. It falls within the ambit of sapinda relationship. Thus, you can not marry within any provision which is covered in Hindu religion or personal laws. Thanks
