when once property was sold by your grand mother to your father the property becomes absolute property of your father. so your father can sell the property and there was no possibility to stop the sale transaction.

Your grandmother purchased land hence she was the absolute owner of the land. When your father purchased the same from your grandmother, he became absolute owner of the property. Now your father sold away the land what he purchased from your grandmother with absolute rights. there the matter ends. Now the buyer has absolute rights and title over the property. You have nothing to do with this because the origin of the property is self acquired but, not ancestral. If you can prove the purchase of the property by your grandmother or by your father with the money of joint family, then you can ask for cancellation of the sale (deed) in a court of law (subject to limitation as you have not mentioned the respective sale transaction dates). In such event the buyer may offer you compromise for closing litigations.
