How to restrict my inlaws from creating a public trial of my divorce?

20-Jul-2023 (In Family Law)
I am a public servant. I got separated from my wife within 5 months after marriage. I applied for Divorce an year ago. Inlaws have since then resorted to defamation of my character, first with my relatives and now at work place. They are threatening me with dharnas and TV interviews.nnIs there no legal course to restrict them?I had already sent them 2 legal notices which they did not care to respond. Can a defamation case stop them? Should i resort to getting any injunctions, if so what type?

if you have the evidence of it then you can file the police complaint against him. You can also file a criminal complaint under defamation against him. if you have sent two legal notices but still it is continued then you can use that legal notice as evidence

You should bring this point to the notice of the judge adjudicating your divorce matter and file a criminal complaint of defamation against your spouse and her family. you also have the option of filing a civil defamation claiming damages from her for loss of reputation.

Well, you can file a Defamation Case against them, if you have evidence against them, that, they are spreading rumors about you and as such, they do not have any evidences to back up allegations against you.
