Yes the old should immediately file a complaint before the local police station if they want protection and hence police will protect them and if required will do the needful and induct sections to such a case to put it before the court.

You did not say which type of harashment. No one can harase any person either minor or major or young or old. The Country Law say, if any person harase you, you have right to take step against such person. Here your question is not clear. Therefore, I request to put question clearly, so which we can understand it and answer properly, otherwise, you may think that we haras you.

There are laws protecting elderly people who are subject to harassment. This includes police protection as well as legal protection. You may file a complaint before the relevant police station and take recourse.
