How to obtain death certificate?

My grandfather died in 1980 and we dont have any photo of him, we have some property on his name we need death certificate to to get the property, when we applied for death certificate with revenue department they rejected as photo was not produced. how to get death certificate and process of getting the land on my name

Hello, as the matter is pertaining to thirty seven years back, so, if you now approach the authorities, they will raise many doubts, but there is way to get property on your name also. My question is apart from you, any other legal heirs are there.

Hi
All of your grand father's legal heirs(Wife, Sons/Daughter) can submit an affidavit that your grand father died in the year 1980 and based on that the revenue authorities can issue a family member certificate.
In the family member certificate the names of all of the legal heirs will be mentioned.
Based on the family member certificate you can mutate the properties in your name.
Alternatively you can file a suit for declaratory title in the court and obtain the declaratory title
