How to legally Protect my mother from my abusive father
26-Aug-2023 (In Family Law)
My parents live at their own apartment which was purchased in my mother's name. My father is a terribly cruel person, a tyrant. He has tormented, tortured us since I gained my sense. Now as I live separately, he tortures her badly, along with some sinister neighbours. Although they both need each other because she cooks and he has got money. He is now nearly 76 and she is 73. I can not keep her with me because my wife can not tolerate her because of her past behaviour. Is it possible that I can help her sell the apartment and purchase a new apartment for her elsewhere? Is there any ways out to make him stop torturing him? Police hesitate in taking any measure seeing his age.Although he has got his family house nearby but as nobody is there to cook for him, he needs my mother but still tortures her. Please guide..
Your mother should immediately file domestic violence case against your father and write a letter to police for not helping her and a court has said whatever be the age a person who has committed a crime should be punished
You can obviously arrange for a separate accommodation for your mother by selling the flat, only if it is registered in her name. Your mother can file a criminal case under domestic violence act against your father, if she is willing to. Sometimes, to prevent violence, drastic measures are required to be taken.
