The misuse of dowry harrassment Act by women against their husbands and in laws is rampant. But in your case your wife has just threatened you that she will be filing complaints against you. You have not said when you got married, as the Law on dowry does not apply 7 years after marriage .

It is a free law, any relative may booked by the police. In the meantime prepare your own defense so that you can yourself, your parents and close kith and kin if such attempt is made by your wife.more in personal visit.

Question: My wife is threatening for dowry harassment case against me and my parents.But the truth is after marriage i had helped her to grow in her carrier and get a job, so i helped to join institutes for banking job and paid her tuition fees and every time the banking exam fees. She demanded me to make her nominee but i didn't agree,so i deposited around 3 lacs rupees on her to convince her that i care for her. we had a baby boy one yr ago and the delivery happened in bangalore and i have paid for each and everything. But my in laws used call me or my parents to threaten everytime that we don't care their daughter well.My wife completely supports them.So with frustration i asked my in laws have u ever helped me physically, mentally or financially.So don't call or threaten me. They have a recording of my question and now threatening to file dowry harassment case on my line"have u ever helped me physically, mentally or financially.My question is, can i be booked under dowry harassment case?
