How can i stop my family from following me
04-Apr-2023 (In Family Law)
I am 28 yrs old male. After years of abuse, I finally separated from them and told them not to follow me. I walked out without giving them my phone and address. But, they found out my number, don't know how & they messaged me. I called back and told them again, don't track me, they said they wouldn't. After that, they just appeared at my flat, of which, the address, I didn't give them. They requested me to come home. I went there next day and told them to stop stalking. I just don't want to be traced by them. Can I restrain them legally from tracking or stalking me? Thanks!
yes you can stop them. Stalking is a criminal offence and for that you can file an FIR at your nearest Police Station as well as you can file a civil suit against them for retraining them to follow you and causing any mental agony.
You may file a suit for permanent injunction against your family members but for this you have to prove certain disqualification about your family members as to why you do not want them to follow you or be in contact with you.
Cant say that it may be a easy suit but certainly interesting point of law is involved.
