Hey, I'm 23 and my girlfriend is 22, we both are financially independent, working in reputed MNC and looking forward for our marriage, I want to ask that is it possible that my parents(SC/ST) can legally file a case against my girlfriends family(General) that MY girlfriend family abused us, so it becomes a non bailable offence concluding to false FIR? Is there anything that my parents can legally do to forcefully stop my marriage? Since my parents have a very strong objection, where as my girlfriends family are totally okay with our relationship and will to get married! I'm desperately seeking for a legal advice on this.
as both of you are mature and are financially independent then your families cannot legally be a hurdle for consuming your marriage. you both need to engage an advocate and get married under his instructions. you may also seek my advice.
