Hello,nI got divorced in 2018 via mutual consent.Full custody of my 8 year old son is with me .As agreed we settled for a full and final settlement. The words mentioned weren"The petitioner 2 has agreed to pay petitioner one a sum of xxx towards all claims of petitioner one along with maintenance charges of minor son untill he attains majority as full and final settlement "nNow my question here is , we never mentioned education expenses here.My son goes to an IB school and the cost of education is high. Can i claim atleast part education expenses??the word maintenance mentioned does it also include child's education fees? in todays times ,due to the rising costs the education expense shoots up too much so shouldn't both parents bear it despite the full settlement of alimony?nPlease advise.thank you

you can always claim these expenses from your ex-husband if this was not specifically covered in your 2018 consent terms for mutual divorce. we will be required to see the divorce decree and original settlement terms to guide you further

Dear Queriest,as per your query you have mentioned that you got mutually divorced and alimony was passed with conditions and so on you are in confusion that whether you can claim your child education expenses since it is not mentioned specifically in the order, here I can say that whether it is not specifically mentioned about the expenses you can claim the education expenses since till he attain his majority, for more information about the same feel free to call me.
