Getting Threaten by Brother in Law of false case
27-Oct-2024 (In Family Law)
Hi,
I am getting threatening from Brother in law of trapping me in false case.
Can you please suggest something what should I do.
In such situations, it’s important to take some precautionary steps to protect yourself:
1. Document Everything: Keep a record of all communications and interactions with your brother-in-law, especially any threats or inappropriate behavior. Save messages, call logs, or emails that indicate any threat.
2. Inform the Police: You may want to lodge a non-cognizable (NC) report or a general diary (GD) entry with the police. This will establish a record that you are facing threats. Explain that you are being threatened with a false case. If the situation escalates, this report may help.
3. Avoid Confrontation: Try to avoid direct confrontation or arguments with him, as this may provide him with opportunities to trap you in a situation or provoke a reaction that could be misrepresented.
4. Seek Legal Advice: A legal professional can guide you on preventive measures, such as filing for anticipatory bail if you feel a false criminal case may be filed against you.
5. Witness Support: If there are mutual contacts who are aware of the situation, their statements might be useful if things escalate.
