Is it important to produce a legal heir certificate to the employer to get the full and final settlement for a deceased employee in Bangalore? The Mother is the nominee, and the death certificate has the mother's name.

Normally, the employer has to pay the terminal benefits of deceased employee to the nominee he cannot ask for legal heir certificate unless there is a claim by any other person like wife of the deceased etc. If there is any such demand by the employer then the mother of the deceased may approach the department of labor and employment.
