Getting my own money back from spouse who took money from me

29-Feb-2024 (In Family Law)
My spouse borrowed a lot of money during marriage promising to pay me back. Can I get it back with a civil case or does it need to be criminal for compensation? He is not cooperating with mediation. I have bank stmts as evidence. Currently paying huge EMIs for the loans I took for him. (Special marriage act)

No, you can't evoke criminal proceedings as the dispute between you is Civil in nature. You can file a Civil suit for recovery of such amount. Prove your case with the bank statement. Can contact me for further advice.
