Dowry and Harassment case against my wife brother including our names

Hi , my wife’s brother wife filled FIR against whole family regarding dowry and harassment. We both are not involved with them after there marriage. Can I file defamation case against them.

hi you can file quash petition to quash the FIR on the ground that you are not connected to the allegations of dowry and harassement and that mere allegations of dowry and harassement wont amount to defamation

firstly you should prove that you are innocent and no way connected with the alleged offences. you have an option to file petition before the High court for quash the FIR against you and also obtain a stay meanwhile try your level best to make a compromise among the couple.
