Defamation and false promise to marriage what legal action can we take

I loved a guy for 4 years and after lot of struggle with the family marriage was fixed on may 2017. But the guy stopped the wedding on April 2017 and blamed on my character. There was only a sms from his dad to my dad and the family was not reachable for almost a month. Now he married another girl and they had affair even before the marriage was stopped. I'm undergoing depression treatment because of this. Please let me know if there's anything that I can do legally?
