Court Marriage, Arya Samaj Marriage

We want to have a court marriage in Delhi (Jain and Hindu). We have some queries:nn• Aadhar has our old non-Delhi addresses, but the Passport of one partner has the new Delhi address. Passport accepted as a valid proof? On what address is the waiting period marriage notice and final marriage certificate documents sent?nn• What other documents are required in the entire process?n n• Do all the 3 witnesses need to be present both times - when going to declare intent and when finally getting the marriage registered? nn• What is Arya Samaj marriage and same day registration? Is it quicker, better? More expensive? nnIdeally, we would like to get everything done within a couple days although we don’t mind the waiting period. But all 3 witnesses cannot travel twice to Delhi. So any suggestions? nnThanks!

First of all, only two witnesses are needed for marriage solemnisation and registration. Both the witnesses should be PAN card holders. Address won't be an issue and passport is definitely a valid legal document. The marriage solemnisation and the registration can be done on the very same day and the certificate of registration (digitally signed by the SDM) can be downloaded online from the website itself that comes in a few days. For the part where you ask whether the same day arya samaj marriage and registration is quicker or better, it may be noted that it's better as it would definitely save your time and the cost depends from advocate to advocate depending upon his expertise and past marriage registration experience. A marriage has to be registered where the bride and groom are residing or going to reside after marriage. It is to be registered with the sub-registrar office of the jurisdiction of the beneficiaries. Generally, it is a 45-60 days process including a notice period but 2 months is a decent period for getting a registered marriage certificate.

Documents required for marriage registration:- 1). Aadhaar Card. 2). Passport size photographs. 3). Your residential proof. 4). Date of Birth proof. 5). Three witnesses with Aadhaar & PAN Card. 6). Affidavits from both of you.
