Complaint against daughter in law for harassment to in laws.

My parents are getting ill treated at the hands of my sister in law. She harasses us telling that she will tell people that it is she who is being harassed by us. My brother does not say much in this matter. She even beats and abuse her kid to show her anger towards us. She wants to live separately, but my brother is not willing to stay separate.
It seems your family problem. Legally you can file a complaint as per welfare of senior citizen act. Also a police complaint. You discuss with your brother or accompany your parents with you. If your parents is the owner house and property they are living ask your brother to go out.

From your querry, it is not clear what type of remedy and to whom the remedy is needed is not clear. Any way I am giving a general answer. As per the provisions of The maintenance and welfare of parents and senior citizens act *(SEC.22) the concerned District magistrate or any officer empowered under this act can take appropriate actions, if it is complained by the parents /senior citizens.

In u r case it is better to talk to u r elder brother and discuss seriously about the matter . If she is creating troubles then u r parents can file a complaint against her before police . Try to resolve the matter among yourself . In this case u r brother has to take a decision for the family .
