Clarification on jurisdiction for filing complaint in women cell

08-Jun-2023 (In Family Law)
My wife leaves me after every year and lives with her parents in N. i am currently working in R. We have one daughter aged 7 years. Now wife has put a complaint (application) against me in aligarh mahila police station and they have asked me to come to A on 2nd july. For this they just called me on phone. few question i have are 1. Whether A police station have the jurisdiction against me when i am living outside G since November 2005 2. Whether just a phone call is enough for them to call me. does they not need some official notice. 3. What are the chances of me getting the custody of my child.

Your wife is living in that city therefore she can file case there. Police can call you and ask to come for inquiry. If you will not go then they can send you notice. I suggest you should go there and face inquiry. For child custody you can file case in family court. As youf child is girl child there are less chances of getting custody. But all depend upon fact of the case. You must file custody case; you may get custody but you will definitely get visitation rights.
