Dear Legal Advisor, My name is Shweta Das and I'm an NRI residing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). I need legal help pertaining to Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act 2007 (Central Act 56 of 2007). Both of my parents are deceased. I've a sibling; my elder brother is married and he lives in Mangalore with his wife, daughter and his in-laws family. My parents were central government employees based in Delhi. My parents did several sacrifices for my elder brother Shaswat Das and they had to take deliberate transfers to some remote and inconvenient locations for sake of my brothers education. On the monetary side, my parents had to sacrifice their dream of buying properties and assets for sake of my elder brother's education and marriage. My brother was graduated with a Civil Engineering degree in 2003. Thereafter, he started working with private firms to earn money. You have not explained your query completely but you can contact me for a legal opinion I have experience with dealing in cases pertaining to senior citizen rights and maintenance and since you mentioned that your parents have deceased what are you looking for from your elder brother

Hi, The facts provided by you are not complete. It lacks the questions to which legal advice can be given. I would recommend you to provide a particular query so that it cam be answered. But from the incomplete facts what i can gather is, you want to take money from your brother for your patents. It can be done, there is a provision whereby parents can ask for maintenance from their children.
