Can husband claim second wife's pension?

One of my relative was Lady BSNL employee. She was the second wife for her Husband. She Expired of Heart Attack at the age of 55 years. Does her Husband can claim her pension ?

Dear Client, If that lady is having the legal status of wife, pertaining to her "husband", then that "husband" can claim her pension. The important conditions are_ The lady's husband must not have another legally wedded wife, other the lady mentioned. & the lady mentioned above must be legally wedded to the above mentioned husband. In that case the above mentioned husband is entitled to her pension from BSNL. Regards,

Yes. If the second marriage is legal and valid then of course the husband can claim family pension but not pension of the wife. Whether any proof for the relationship between husband and wife is another question

hai, u need to define status of second wife. was she legally married or just living together. in normal cases family pension can be claimed by remaining spouse, and unmarried daughter with some regulations. the husbands status also is a matter to be considered. please post query with more details. hope am upto your query

Yes the husband canclaim the family pension of his wife if she is his legally wedded wife. Provided the first wife is either dead or Divorced. One husband can have a second marriage only if his first wife is divotced or she is nomore. Otherwise second marriage is illegal. For a govt employee irrespective of his religion he is expected to have only one wife
