Can govt employee become witness in court marriage

Some of my friends are in central government job and most of them are in probation period and they want to be witness in my court marriage, my doubt is this that from somewhere i heard that govt. Employee can not becone witness in court marriage unless they get NOC from there respective department, is this correct... the main problem is that they are in probation period, please help me...

Any one can be a witness if the marriage is happened between the two persons who attained majority . The person who is a govt employee also can be a witness in a marriage proceedings and he need not to get permission from their Department unless there is a bar to be a witness in the marriage proceedings.

i have received your mail dont worry definitly you can use your friend as a witness for register marriage may be any helb contact me probation period is not a problem what type of marriage whether special marriage act or hindu marriage act
