Can a son break relationship with senior parents
02-Sep-2023 (In Family Law)
I am a Hindu male above 20 and my parents are about 50 both. I don't posses any of their properties or any ancestral properties. Will there be any charges against me if I leave my home or break relation with them according to senior citizen act or any ipc section that I am not taking care of my parents.
Dear Sir,
If a senior citizen including parent in unable to maintain himself from his own earning or through the earning of the property owned by him, then you are not liable for any charge.
as i can assume that in your case, the age of your parents are only 50yrs, so they don't fall in the category of "senior-citizen". you will be liable for maintenance only if they are unable to maintain themselves, as it's the duty of children to maintain such senior citizens.
further, if you have more doubts than please feel free to contact me.

Of course! You are bound to maintain them. You should be ashamed even asking this! Disgusting. You call yourself son. You will be prosecuted under CrPC and senior citizens act. This is the time when. Your parents need you.
as per law it is your pious duty to maintain your parents, your parents can ask you for mainteance if you are capable enough to maintain yourself as well as your parents. morely you should respect you parents and should do every possible care of them howsoever bad in behaviou they are because they are the same parents when you were wrong in childhood still they did not leave you in between and provided you guidance moreover you will face the same situation from your children then you will be able to understand their situation . and in my view .... children like you should be punished rigorously or there should be rule to devoid/debarred you from any right from their property ..
