Can a girl file case on a man for false promise to marry her

My friend is a Hindu, she is married and still not got divorced, she has got cheated by another married man, who promised to marry her after divorce, but now says not interested, can she file case on him
Your friend can take legal action against that person if he did something wrong with her by making false promises, but if your friend is a married woman and she was in serious affair with someone then her husband can also file a case for adultery against her
