Before distribution of fund he needs me to indemnify on stamp paper so

we have inherited some funds from the late grandparent as per the family tree however before distribution of funds my cousin wants me to indemnify him on stamp paper n I/We shall Indemnify, Mr. The Administrator/Executor of _____, from time to time as required by Law njust want to know the belown1. what does this exactly mean (indemnifying him ) n2. would i be liable to pay incase he does anything wrong or illegal if yes thn wht would be the liabilty would it be restricted to amount receivedn3. what are the risk involved if i once indemnify him
