Marriage Laws and Cousin Relationships In India, the Special Marriage Act, 1954, governs inter-caste and inter-religious marriages. When it comes to cousin marriages, the Act doesn't explicitly prohibit marriages between second cousins or more distant relatives. Your Specific Situation Given that you want to marry your 3rd cousin (your dad's 2nd cousin's daughter), with whom you share great-great-grandparents, it's likely that this marriage would be permissible under the Special Marriage Act. Key Considerations 1. *No Prohibition*: Since the Special Marriage Act doesn't specifically prohibit marriages between 3rd cousins, this relationship might not be a barrier to marriage. 2. *Family and Social Considerations*: While the law might permit the marriage, it's essential to consider family and social implications, as cultural and personal preferences can vary widely. Next Steps 1. *Consult a Lawyer*: If you have any doubts or concerns, consult with a lawyer specializing in family law to get personalized advice. 2. *Understand the Law*: Familiarize yourself with the Special Marriage Act and any applicable state laws to ensure you comply with all requirements. Given the information available, it seems that marrying your 3rd cousin might be legally permissible, but it's always best to consult with a legal expert for specific guidance.

Dear Sir, You are not suppose to marry legally but if none of the family members of either side not interested to raise any objections then you can marry and continue the life. Scientifically also it is not suggested to marry within such relationship. Take a wise decision.
