I have perused the contents of your query and would advise you to seek a detailed consultancy from a lawyer having expertise in matrimonial cases. The PWDV Act was enacted with an intent to provide protection to women against domestic violence. You may file a complaint under section 12 of the said act.

Yes, there is a way through which a legal notice can be slapped on them which will be stating the ground under which we believe that the lady is being subjected to physical or mental abuse for dowry. the notice will be categorically stating all the events through which it is evident that the harrasment has occasioned. This will act as a warning whereby we will be giving them 3 days time to stop all this otherwise, a police complaint and a magistrate complaint will be loved against them.
