Wrongly given summons as witness to an unrelated Case.

03-Jan-2023 (In Documentation Law)

Dear Sir/Madam, I have been given a summons to Appear as a witness to a property destruction case that is unrelated to me.Either the witness sign was taken accidentally or on purpose by a Police constable just to make his filing easier while i had gone to the station to collect some documents after my Fathers Death. He had made me sign few documents and probably one of the document is related to summons i have received. I have not even been in Bangalore since i have been in Maharashtra from past 5 years.

You have received the summons so it is your duty to attend the court, if you failed to appear before the court, warrant may be issued by the court.
If you don't know anything about the case then you say before the court same words. If you avoided some times court may drop you as an wittnesses.
