What is the process to change name in documents

My son is only 18 months old and has a passport, birth certificate and one LIC policy in his name. Now we want to change his name, and we have already got an affidavit made along with publication in the newspaper. Now how can i get this first name altered in the abovementioned documents. Please help
Take all the documentation you have to the passport office. You should get a firm there for change of name or you can probably download it from the website. Submit all your documents and the passport office will cancel the old passport and issue you a fresh one. Once the fresh passport is issued, give proof of change of name to the LIC company and they'll do the necessary.
