Want to know the procedure to get legal heir certificate

I need a legal heir certificate. Is it necessary to obtain succession certificate before getting heirship certificate. I need this to claim money in bank accounts. What is the duration to get a legal heirship certificate ?

As your need is to get the money from the bank, all you need to do to apply for the succession certificate. For which headship certificate is not necessary.
If the bank ask for the headship, then first you go to your local councillor for heir certificate and then make an affidavit before the Magistrate.
