Registration of marriage of a foreign citizen with an Indian

13-Mar-2023 (In Documentation Law)
A foreigner is to marry an Indian citizen and get their marriage registered in india. It takes 2 years after marriage to get a PIO/OCI card. Where must the foreigner be in those two years? Can he/she stay in their own country to continue their job or should they stay in India without working? Will a visa be provided in such a case?

Dear Lawyer/ Sir/mam, The citizenship Act was amended in 2015. Your hubby/Wife may stay in india if he/she wishes for an OCI or otherwise you may go to his/her country and look for the ways for getting the PRI/Citizenship of that nation. There are other restrictions if your hubby/wife is from pakistan, bangladesh etc., Your chances of getting a citizenship in abroad is depend upon the nation you settle.
