Procedure to correct the name in Documents

Sir my name is" Nitin kumar" in my Cast(sc) certificate but In my educational and other document name is "Nitin". How can I correct my cast certificate .can I also reapply for new certificate without surrender old certificate
its a complicated process for the first timers you should go to concerning sdm office and ask the enquiry people that you want to change the name and what are the formalities for the same they will give you a correction form they may or may not ask for an affidavit for this you need to submit your old certificate which will be surrendered while submitting the correction form

Name amendment can be made by making changes and publishing same in the official gazette of India. It would suffice your purpose and motive both. As it would be a relevant proof for the name change and once published in gazette, would be sufficient enough.

So please get a correction in the SC certificate by applying again. It is always better to surrender the old one by stating that it bears your name wrongly. As all your document mentions NITIN, you show other documents support of your correct name.
