Procedure to change name of wife after marriage

My name is Pranavesh Mandal.My wife name was Anamika Sarkar before marriage. In marriage certificate her name shows Anamika Mandal (Sarkar). I wish to know what is her leagal name now? Anamika Mandal or Anamika Mandal Sarkar or is it still Anamika Sarkar? In my service book the name of my wife is given Anamika Mandal Sarkar. If i update or change all her document in the name of Anamika Mandal .will there be any problem in future? The birth certificate of my child shows his mother's name is Anamika Mandal. And is it still necessary to make an affidavit to change her name to Anamika Mandal.?

The name of your wife is Anamika Mandal Sarkar as the name on the marriage certificate shows the name she intends to you after marriage.
Now you have the option to change it to Anamika Mandal by a Joint notarized affidavit from a public notary which would suffice the purpose.
Once this is done, then with these documents you need to make the necessary changes in your other documents which include PAN Card, Bank Documents, Passport, Driving license, Loans, Insurance etc.
Also make necessary information’s at the Local municipality authority, residential society, children’s school and other places that needs to be updated.
