Procedure to apply for birth certificate

Hi, I was born in March 1988 in Chennai. Im currently in need of my birth certificate for a job opening in MNC, when I approached the officials in chennai corperation they said my gender is updated as Female and asked to get letter from KG hospital where I was born but hospital seems not to have old records but I have my mother's discharge certificate where it's mentioned as male. But with this evidence the officials are not ready to change the records and provide me an update birth certificate. What should be my next step here. Please advice.
You have to send a legal notice to the Corporation requesting to update your particulars in their database if they fails to do so you need to file petition with the competent court (at Rippon Building) to correct the error and to issue the birth certificate

Don't worry you get a Affidavit from Notary Public and submit in corporation they will do it or you file in court.
