Parents of differenet caste which caste will I use for government jobs

My father and mother belongs to OBC and ST category respectively .... and i was admitted to school and mentioned my caste as ST (which is the caste of my mother ) so now i wanted to know that.. is there any problem in future while getting a job as i was born and bought up in the community of nayaka (SCHEDULED TRIBE) though my parents didnt divorced each other.. and now i was recognised as nayak belongs to the ST caste so please clarify my doubt. What is it according to law?
You can apply for the job with the caste which is been mentioned in you school transfer certificate.

If u r in kerala u r female decedent mother would be head of family her caste apply if ur out of kerala outside ur father caste apply since male decedent will be taken into consideratiin. So think whixh is better and move
