Notice issued from passport office to inquire about the police case

I have received a show cause notice from passport office due to pending police case. The charge sheet of police case is not yet submitted in court. Please suggest me what should i have to do?'
Make an affidavit to that effect that charge sheet is not filed but you are in need of the passport and as soon as it is filed then you will furnish the copy in passport office. Get the affidavit notarised and submit it on the day passport office has asked you to come

You have to write an application stating the case details and pending charge sheet to the passport office.
As police verification is mandatory for passport
a similar kind of application can also be submitted in court seeking directions for passport office but i don't think court will direct until you show the court urgency to get a passport which may damage your case.
