Need immediate help for changing my name officially

My current official name is just my first name but i wan to add my last name too with it because some foreign universities doesn't allow admission without it. Anyway i started the procedure and got an affidavit for it from Gurgaon district court notary but now I don't know what exactly needs to be done to get it done officially. Different people are suggesting different steps including publication in newspaper and Gazette of India. But its really very confusing and i have no one to assist me. Please help me. Day by day my admission procedure is getting delayed

I think right procedure has already been advised to you, which is getting a notice published in a News Paper, regarding your intention to change your name/or add surname to it, and subsequently get it published in Gazette of India. These days Gazette prints have been discontinued, so you may have to check with concerned press in Delhi, if they still print the Gazette Notification, or it is given to you in soft copy.
