Legal procedure to Correct name in share certificate

I purchased few shares in my wife's name twenty years back. I was planning to change her name officially from Jayasheela CK to Sheela Narayanan(Narayanan - name of husband). The share is purchased in the name of Sheela Narayanan. However,later it was decided not to change the name and continued with her original name. Now we have few shares of different companies in the name of Sheela Narayanan. Her PAN, VoterID,Aadhar are in her maiden name ie. Jayasheela CK. What is the procedure to correct the name in share certificate.
The best option would be in "Sheela Narayanan" selling the shares to "Jayasheela" . A local stock broker may be able to guide you .

hai i think there is no need to change the name for redeeming shares. Cuz the process is a bit painstaking n confusing. Yet u may not get a perfect solution. So i recommend u to get a declaratory decree from competent civil court making the share cokpany as a respondent

Please submits a notarised affidavit. in case, if the authority is not accepting the affidavit, then, get a court order or change the name.
To change the name , you have to publish it in official Gazette.
