How can i change the name of my son?

how can i change my son's name. is there any procedure that after the endorsement letter been given. we have to go tot the court?
In your question it is not clear that where you want to change your son's name.
If you want to change his name in the marks card, school leaving certificate etc., You will have to file a suit for declaration and injunction, by issuing a notice u/s 80 of civil procedure code to the State Govt., rep., by Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Director of Public Instructions of your Dist., If your son is minor.
If he is major then he will have to file a suit by following the above said procedure.
If he is minor and just you want to change his name but not in the school records just you will have sworn an affidavit before the notary and publish it in the news paper.
