12-Apr-2023 (In Documentation Law)
My mother name is incorrect in sale deed, her name is mentioned as LALITHA in sale deed, whereas in PAN card it is mentioned as LALITHAMMA. now she wants to transfer that propeety to my name. can it be done without providing PAN card at the time of Registration? or if PAN is mandatory then how to rectify the mistake. her correct name is LALITHAMMA. Thanks, Charan

This is permissible. You will have to execute an affidavit in the name of your mother from a Magistrate stating the anomaly in name of a same and identical person.

Ask your mother to swear to an Affidavit saying Lalitha and Lalithamma are one and the same person and get the Affidavit noterized and keep that for your future reference. And the property can be transferred in your name by executing a registered gift deed. Make sure that in the gift deed your mother's name is mentioned as Lalitha @Lalithamma
