06-Feb-2023 (In Documentation Law)

I cleared ugc net dec 2014 exam under jat obc category but the ugc office refused to give me net e certificate on the grounds that the supreme court has quashed your reservation. My name appeared in the list prepared by cbse for qualified candidates under obc. What should I do? I gave the exam when I was in obc category, then why such a retrospective decision?

The judgement referred to you needs to examined in detail. In any event, the judgement should not be retrospective in application. If it was so then everyone who has obtained this benefit should also be denied like you have been. Subject to knowing the matter in detail and perusing the papers involved, i think a writ petition would be lie to set aside the action of the UGC officers in denying you the certificate. Prima facie you have a sound case. If you wish to proceed and explore the options, do get in touch with me. Regards
